Confirmation bias

In psychology and cognitive science, confirmation bias (or confirmatory bias) is a tendency to search for or interpret information in a way that confirms one’s preconceptions, leading to statistical errors.

Confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias and represents an error of inductive inference toward confirmation of the hypothesis under study.

Confirmation bias is a phenomenon wherein decision makers have been shown to actively seek out and assign more weight to evidence that confirms their hypothesis, and ignore or underweigh evidence that could disconfirm their hypothesis.

As such, it can be thought of as a form of selection bias in collecting evidence.

The Art of Dance and Movement

The art Of Dance

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Dance is a type of art that generally involves movement of the body, often rhythmic and to music. It is performed in many cultures as a form of emotional expression, social interaction, or exercise, in a spiritual or performance setting, and is sometimes used to express ideas or tell a story. Dance may also be regarded as a form of nonverbal communication between humans or other animals, as in bee dances and behaviour patterns such as a mating dances.

The Ritual that’s Not!

coffee

The Ritual that’s Not!

I have a ritual that is not a formal ceremony. Yet at some part of the day. I’m on edge and I think back I forgot to have my coffee. I have a compulsion to have some brew wither it is coffee or tea.  Tea not being my first chooses, but a mind trick until I can get to those liquefied coffee beans.

Yes a fresh cup of coffee to wake me up! But what else is going on. Do I feel my day will start off better with a cup. Am I contemplating what the day will bring as I hold my cup?  Am I in a somewhat a meditative state clasping my cup? Waiting to emerge from a semi-hibernated sleep/wake state of mind. To a state of full awakening.  Or the occasional aahh “A Revelation.”

Even now I realize, I prefer complete silence as I drink my Coffee in The morning. No disturbance at all. It is more than just a cup of coffee to wake me up.  It looks more like I am communing with myself.

What is the woman next to me thinking as she pour the exact amount of cream needed in her coffee. she is happy when it has reaches that perfect shade of brown.   Is she beginning her own meditative-state. The way she holds her coffee cup and gazes into it.  The look in her face as though it is a deep earthen pool.  Is she Scrying out her day like smoothing Obsidian? With that lovely content look on her face. It just a thought!

Lavandula (common name Lavender)

The ancient Greeks called the lavender herb nardus, after the Syrian city of Naarda (possibly the modern town of Dohuk, Iraq). It was also commonly called nard.[30] The species originally grown was L. stoechas.[1]

Lavender was one of the holy herbs used in the biblical Temple to prepare the holy essence, and nard is mentioned in the Song of Solomon (4,14)

nard and saffron,
calamus and cinnamon,
with every kind of incense tree,
with myrrh and aloes,
and all the finest spices.

During Roman times, flowers were sold for 100 denarii per pound, which was about the same as a month’s wages for a farm laborer, or fifty haircuts from the local barber. Its late Latin name was lavandārius, from lavanda (things to be washed), from the verb lavāre (to wash). The Greeks discovered early on that lavender if crushed and treated correctly would release a relaxing fume when burned.

In medieval times powdered lavender was used as a condiment.
